According to the study&nbsp;<em>Young Women in Mexico City 2025<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>ENVIPE 2024 (INEGI)<\/em>,&nbsp;<strong>26% of women stopped using public transport for fear of becoming victims of a crime<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This figure reflects not only a safety problem, but also a direct limit on women&#8217;s economic, social, and educational participation. When fear restricts mobility, it also restricts opportunities and freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technology: key to personal safety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faced with this challenge, we need to explore solutions that help restore confidence in public spaces. Safety is not a privilege; it is a right. Today, technology has become an ally so women can feel accompanied and supported on every trip, through mobile apps, alert devices, and tools that encourage citizen solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Quick alert buttons:<\/strong>&nbsp;allow people to ask for help in seconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Trusted networks:<\/strong>\u00a0keep family and friends connected so they can respond to any risk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Crisis interaction:<\/strong>&nbsp;the community can react in real time as support and deterrence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A path toward safer journeys<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Public transport should be a safe space for everyone.
